My recent visit to Maison Du Crab was absolutely delightful. Located on North Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale, this restaurant offers a unique fusion of cuisines from around the world. From Asian and Caribbean flavors to European and Latin dishes, the menu is incredibly varied and full of tantalizing choices.
I decided to try something special and went for the Lamb TajinevWith Mediterranean couscous mint raita and harissa. The lamb was cooked to perfection – tender yet succulent with just the right amount of seasoning that didn’t overpower the delicate flavors of the lamb itself. It was served with couscous that was fragrant, fluffy and light. The mint raita and harissa added an extra bit of flavor that rounded out this dish nicely.
After my entree, I decided to indulge in their Champagne and Lobster Risotto – another great choice! This creamy, rich dish had generous chunks of lobster meat nestled in a bed of fluffy Arborio rice, which melted away in my mouth like butter. Topped off with a delightful champagne cream sauce that added sweetness without being cloyingly sweet, it was truly decadent.
The atmosphere at Maison Du Crab is also worth mentioning — it’s romantic yet sophisticated all at once. They offer semi-private dining rooms perfect for special occasions like anniversaries or birthdays; each room is decorated with lush drapery, cozy lighting and elegant furnishings that transport you into a world away from your daily cares and worries.
