The Miami Gardens Wine and Food Festival, featuring Chef G Garvin, and hosted by Lamman Rucker of Greenleaf, brought the city something different and Deserved. The foodie in all of us, was thoroughly satiated as one made the rounds.
My first stop was Sweet Treats by Nathalie. I figured I would sweeten the palate before I dug in. Whoa! I was not ready for the Rum Shot cupcake. The explosion of strong Liquor, immediately backed up by sweet decadence was the most appropriate intro to the scrumptious evening ahead.
There was sushi, curry chicken and coconut rice; anything your taste buds desired was available. However, Trindy Gourmet walked away with my soul at the end of the night. The Shrimp and grits were a perfect texture…salted, no sugar. Then they took Bacon and turned it into a blessing for the masses. The Bacon Wrapped BBQ rib and the Bourbon Bacon and Maple Cream Cheese spread with bagel chips, were equally sinful and heavenly. Yes, that is possible.
Many times I visited the Open Bar; mainly to wet my throat so I could visit Trindy’s again.
The only competition to the food was the Beautiful ambience and people. The setting was intimate yet alive. Well dressed ladies and gentlemen shined amongst the gold and black decor. We could have used some Beyonce-like concert Fans to beat the heat, but that’s why we love Miami nights.
The comfort was not only in the food. Councilwoman Lisa Davis and Nicole Gates of Overtown Media attended to every detail. From the Complimentary valet to the star-studded red carpet, the Miami Gardens Wine and food experience provided just that — an experience.
